Hi, my name is Ed Gregory and I am the Challis Elementary Counselor and PE teacher. I also teach PE at the Challis Jr/Sr High School. I grew up near Blackfoot, Idaho and graduated from the Snake River High School. I attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah for one year after high school and then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Northern Argentina. After returning, I finished a degree in Spanish with a Business Minor. While there, I met my lovely wife Lori and we were married in 1998. After graduation, we moved to Boise, Idaho and I earned a Masters Degree in Social Work with an emphasis in elementary school counseling. We moved from Boise after graduation and I worked for the Twin Falls and Filer School Districts until 2009. During this time, our children; Kyle, Tessa, Megan, and Marcy, were born. In 2009 we moved to Challis and have lived here since then. I planned on being the school counselor here at Challis Elementary, but they asked me to get a teaching certificate once I got here and have been teaching academic classes since then. My career has changed a lot since first coming to Challis. The one constant has been my counseling position. I've also taught reading and math in the elementary school, driver's ed, PE, and coached basketball and football. Although I have loved the many different job responsibilities I have had over the years, I am doing my dream job now; PE and Counseling.
My hobbies involve, reading, camping, hunting, riding horses, riding motorcycles, and watching or participating in anything sports related. I love to hunt mule deer and elk and spend much of my time thinking about, planning for, and implementing those plans each fall. I'm grateful to live in the area I do and share the great outdoors with my family and friends who love this area as much as I do.
This is a wonderful community and I am blessed to live here with my family.
