I have been living in Challis for 25 years. My husband Bob and I have two grown children, R.J. and Mitchell. Bob is a mechanic at Mountain Springs Ranch in Mackay, Idaho. R.J. and Jess have a son and we are so proud to be grandparents. R.J. graduated in 2017 from Idaho State University with and associates degree in Diesel mechanics. He is currently a diesel mechanic in Twin Falls. Mitchell is doing carpentry work in Pocatello and various other places when needed. Both young men graduated from Challis High School.
I have been teaching for 23 years. I hold a bachelor's degree in secondary education with endorsements in Health and Physical Education. I also carry a Master's degree in Elementary education in grades K-8. I have an endorsement in Gifted and Talented education grades K-12. This year I will also have the privilege of teaching 7th grade reading. I love teaching all levels of reading.
My favorite part of teaching is of course the students. I have taught some of my current students' parents, which is something that is a positive in Challis. I value and cherish the diversity of my job teaching students K-6 and having the opportunity to work one on one with students when needed. My passion is children and making a positive impact in their lives. Education has been instilled in my life from both parents and relatives who were and are still educators. Learning is essential to all of us to grow and become better teachers and human beings.
